Runas Gerês- The Country House

It began with a small project in Gerês. Drawn to the quiet strength of Portugal’s only national park, the family first built their own summer house there.
Little by little, that house grew into a retreat, created to share what they had fallen in love with: space, calm, and a way of living closely connected to the land. Once that idea had taken shape, it felt natural to bring it home — Porto.

Rooted in Porto for generations, and just an hour from Gerês, the family watched the city fill with short stays and places that began to look the same. Rather than create another hotel, they translated the spirit of the summer house into the city.
A townhouse opened to show Porto differently — away from tourist routes and commercial shortcuts, shared through the perspective of a family that knows it well.
This is how As Runas came to be:
two houses, shaped by the same idea — one rooted in nature, the other in the city — both opened to be lived and shared.
